Backwaters of Kerala

 Kochi - Cherai - Kumarakom - Alleppey - Poovar - Kochi (5 Nights / 6 Days)

Day 1: Cochin – Cherai (45 km / 1 hr 15 min)

You are greeted on arrival at the Kochi international airport and transfer to hotel at Cherai. Rest of the day at leisure on beach.  Overnight stay at resort.

Day 2: Cherai – Kumarakom (85 km / 1 hr 45 min)

After breakfast check out and proceed to Kumarakom. Reach & check-in at the hotel and relax for a while amidst the comforts of your room. Kumarakom is one of the few places in the world where the means for transportation is through boats. Kumarakom is blessed with the Vembanad Lake which has its majestic canals, streams and distributaries along its banks weave an intricate and enchantingly beautiful web. The major attraction of Kumarakom is the Bird Sanctuary which lies at the edge of the grounds of an old estate where a profusion of all kinds of birds can be observed. Domestic birds such as cuckoo, wild duck, egrets, darters, herons, teal, and water fowl can be seen in abundance here, and the Siberian storks which migrate to this place each year. Overnight stay at the Resort.

Day 3: Kumarakom - Alleppey (45 kms 1 hr)

Enjoy the sumptuous breakfast. Later proceed to the boat Jetty, board the traditionally decorated houseboats and begin the enchanting backwater cruising. The backwaters of Kerala are a unique product of Kerala and can be found nowhere else in the world. A glide in a "Kettuvallam" (Houseboat) through the enchanting backwaters is sure to rob your heart. You’re in a watery universe, so quiet, even you can hear your own blood pumping around your head. Sparkling greens, emerald backwaters, coir-laden houseboats and magical beauty heals your mind and body as you travel to surreal Kerala. Overnight stay in the Houseboat

Day 4: Alleppey - Poovar (160 kms 4 hrs)

After breakfast on houseboat, check out & proceed to Poovar, check into resort. Evening at leisure on Poovar Island. Overnight in resort at Poovar.

Day 5: Poovar (200 kms 4 hrs)

After breakfast full day at leisure or free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Resort in Poovar.

Day 6: Poovar – Cochin (275 kms 5 hrs)

Enjoy the morning at your leisure and checkout of the hotel after breakfast. We will drop you back for the departure flight back home and proceed home after feeling contended about a wonderful time you spent at God's Own Country like so many of our guests
